This is my best five minutes on ‘Focus’

I can feel the tiredness creeping over me and I’m not sure whether or not this is tiredness or the early portent of an M.E. relapse. September is too greedy a month; I am spinning in all different directions.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

I want to learn how to make my new camera work. How do I get it to focus on the person, and blur out the background? I want to know how to do that in life; there are too many things to focus on at the moment and it feels all like a blur, I am on a roundabout and not sure where I should be getting off, and worried about the dizziness when I do.

Look full in his wonderful face

I don’t know how to look at Jesus and his wonderful face. I want to. I am reading the Bible each day but the words are tired to me this week.

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

I offer up the blur and the clamour.

Over to you:

    Hi Tanya,
I have had those times when the Bible’s words are “tired” so I can relate, but over the decades, I have learned to read them anyway just like I eat food bc my soul needs it even if I don’t feel it…You were wise to offer your “blur and clamour” to God because He loves us just where we are…love how you spliced in your words with the song…one of my favs…blessings 🙂

‘Read the Bible just like I eat food’ – that’s such a helpful analogy, thank you!

Lovely to see you – thanks for stopping by.

I can relate to your thoughts Tanya. I think for me abiding with Him, sacrificing whatever needs my attention that isn’t a human being, to listen and abide, that is what helps me to re-focus. So great to connect with you, always look forward to seeing you on Friday.

‘sacrificing whatever needs my attention that isn’t a human being’ – this is wise, and a challenge to me today. Thank you – I think I needed that.

I also love connecting with you on a Friday! Thank you for your encouragement.

    Oh Tanya
I love your expression,” the words are tired to me”. Beautiful! I know that feeling when you read our Pappa’s words and it does not speak to you at times. Can it be that He sometimes just wants us to spend time with Him without talking? I know at those times He is very near for even though I don’t hear Him, His presence is so real. I think the modern world is to noisy and we have lost the wonder of silent communion with the lover of our soul! My hubbie and myself can spend hours together without saying much and that made me think that our Heavenly Bridegroom might just sometimes want to do that to.
    Blessings
    Mia

I’m so glad you liked my words this week! I have been reading a lot of the great Amber Haines (do read her, if you don’t already), and I think I was in a more poetic mood than normal…

I’m not very good at doing silent communion, I must admit, but I really like the idea. Thanks so much for your comments. 🙂

I love your post on focus. Must be the fact that it’s September and fall(my favorite time of the year) is right around the corner! 😉 Sometimes for me, getting back my focus is as simple as getting a cup of tea and sitting in my favorite recliner tucked in the corner of my bedroom.;-) Thanks for the transparency!

I love the idea of a favourite seat! Maybe I should have a ‘thinking seat’… 🙂

One of the things i have been doing is trying to do everything but nothing with focus. I could blame my illness but the truth is i need my focus to be on HIM.

I just remembered I wrote instructions for cameras…. never sent it though – but then I can’t remember to do anything at the moment. Rubbish. Or if I do my limited brain capacity gets interrupted. Today I had big plans. The only person in my office meant I’d get the peace and quiet I needed to do things and catch up where I’ve fallen behind. Except I didn’t. I’ve achieved nothing. All I’ve done is answer the phone and explain that other people aren’t here today. Or answering questions of people who phone me.

      Sounds frustrating and kinda blurry…

Thanks for the camera instructions! It’s really kind of you to do them for me. I’m slowly working through the user manual too, though I find it really hard to concentrate on that kind of thing.

      Hope your weekend improves…

Tanya, I agree, I’ve had a hard time focusing on my Bible reading this month too. I don’t know what that’s about, but I don’t like it. I’m just trying to be honest about it with God, bring it to Him, and admit it before I start reading. Also, ask Him for help. Thank you for this today! 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only one! Lovely to see you on here.
